Car smashed underneath church bus full of kids in Bradley County

A car struck by another vehicle smashed into the rear of a church bus Tuesday evening in Bradley County, according to a news release.

The accident happened around 6 p.m. on Highway 64 just past Randolph Samples Road.

The bus had about 40 children on board.

When emergency medical personnel arrived they found a hatchback car underneath the rear of the bus. The female driver had to be extricated by rescue units.

She was transported to Sky Ridge Medical Center and is in stable condition. One child that was seated in the rear of the bus was also taken by EMS to Sky Ridge for a check-up. The male driver of the third car was not injured.
