Ex-police chief arrested after house fire

A former police chief has been arrested after a house caught fire in northern Alabama.

The home at 1355 County Road 664 in Valley Head caught fire on Oct. 18, 2014, according to a news release from the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office.

An investigation into the fire found that two unrelated men, 62-year-old Thomas Fuller and 47-year-old Glenn Fuller, lived at the same residence. Tom Fuller was the police chief at the Hammondville Police Department in DeKalb County at the time of the fire.

Both men have been charged with 1st degree insurance fraud and booked into the DeKalb County jail.

The investigation is ongoing.
