A Van Buren County man was booked Thursday on drug and weapons charges stemming from a TBI investigation started in September.

William Reed Moody Jr., 40, of Spencer, Tenn., is charged with one count of a felon in possession of a weapon and one count of manufacturing, delivering, selling or possessing schedule VI drugs, according to TBI spokesman Josh DeVine.

DeVine said agent began an investigation after getting word that Moody, a convicted felon, had a weapon and was involved in drugs.

Moody was charged on a grand jury indictment issued on Monday. He is being held on a $10,000 bond.
