East Ridge ElementaryAn employee at East Ridge Elementary has been suspended without pay as the Hamilton County Department of Education investigates a report of misconduct.
Stacy Stewart, assistant superintendent for human resources, said the employee is a non-licensed educational assistant, and that the school system is following protocol for this type of investigation by suspending them.
"You can't run a full investigation with all the parties still there," Stewart says. "The suspension does not mean the party is guilty."
Parents of students at the elementary school received phone calls today informing them that an employee had been suspended, and were told to contact the school with any questions.
