A Ringgold psychologist is accused of Medicaid fraud, to the tune of $254,000.

The Georgia Attorney General's Office has filed an accusation against Dr. Dolcelyn Imperio-Smith.

Authorities allege that between Feb. 25, 2011 and Nov. 22, 2013, Smith, through her practice, billed Georgia Medicaid and received payments for psychological services that were not actually rendered.

According to a news release, members of the Georgia Medicaid Fraud Control Unit investigated and are prosecuting the case.
