
MACON, Ga. - Police are investigating after two people were found dead in a burned vehicle in Crawford County.
Georgia Bureau of Investigation Agent J.T. Ricketson said authorities have not yet identified the victims found Sunday. The cause of death is unknown.
WMAZ-TV reports a Crawford County sheriff's deputy first spotted black smoke coming from the woods around 9:30 a.m. Sunday. Firefighters responding to the blaze found the two bodies in the backseat.
The 2015 Kia Soul was recently rented in Warner Robins.
An autopsy was set for Monday at a GBI crime lab in Macon.
