Police name suspects in fatal brawl

Chattanooga police on Wednesday named the two men who investigators believe were involved in the stabbing death of 36-year-old Shawn Russell early Tuesday morning in a Hixson bar.

Police are looking for Johnathan Paul Harvey, 27, and William Matthew Harvey, 25.

The two men are not brothers, and police are still working to determine how the men are related.

Investigators are asking for help from the public to find the two men, who were involved in a brawl at Rumors Bar on Hixson Pike that left Russell dead.

Forney honored at aging forum

Hattie Forney, a veteran caregiver with Alexian Brothers PACE, was awarded the Eleanor Johnson Outstanding Professional in Aging Award at the Southeast Tennessee Active Aging Forum on April 1.

Forney is the lead certified nursing assistant in PACE's Secure Unit, which cares for patients who are prone to agitation and wandering.

PACE stands for the Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly. It is a day care program that also provides medical benefits and home care for adults suffering from illness or dementia.

Man charged with tax evasion

A Meigs County man has been arrested on a tax evasion charge, according to a Tennessee Department of Revenue news release.

On March 28, the Meigs County grand jury indicted Kenneth Eugene McCallie, 55, on one count of felony tax evasion. Bond was set at $2,500. If convicted, McCallie could be sentenced to up to two years in prison and fined up to $3,000.

"The Department of Revenue promotes voluntary taxpayer compliance by educating taxpayers, aggressively pursuing criminal sanctions and demanding accountability when taxpayers engage in fraudulent activity," Revenue Commissioner Richard Roberts said in the release.

Residents who suspect violations of Tennessee's revenue laws should call the toll-free tax fraud hotline at 1-800-FRAUDTX (372-8389).

Learn the fundamentals of survival through this hands-on class held in a beautiful location. Sign up for a fun and informative eight-hour adventure with a survival expert and certified naturalist who covers survival kits, fire, shelter, water purification and rescue.

Participants will come away knowing how to be prepared and have the confidence to implement outdoor skills during any emergency situation.

The class is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CDT at the park's picnic area. Fee is $30 per person, plus $2 for parked. Only for people aged 14 and older.
