A 17-year-old accused of fatally shooting a Chattanooga shop owner during a robbery in September was arraigned Thursday in Criminal Court on a slew of charges.

Deuntray Kellogg, who is being held on a $1,081,000 bond in the Hamilton County Jail, briefly appeared before Judge Don Poole for a domestic assault charge dating from March 2015. He was appointed an attorney, Chris Jones, and will return to court March 30.

The Times Free Press usually does not name minors, but Kellogg is being tried as an adult in several cases. On Feb. 17, after three months of consideration, a grand jury indicted him on the domestic assault charge. He was indicted in January on nine counts of gun and murder charges with two other then-juveniles in an Aug. 23, 2015, shooting. Meanwhile, his murder charges for the fatal September robbery are pending.

Jones said he could not comment on Kellogg's cases.

In the March 2015 case, police said Kellogg punched his girlfriend in the mouth during a sleepover on Fagan Street. An officer was sent to a nearby home around 7:19 a.m. and found the victim, who detailed the incident through a cut lip. She said she was leaving when Kellogg struck her and knocked her down. Then he jumped on her and continued to attack, she said.

Kellogg told police they argued but denied hitting her. He thought she was leaving to meet another guy. Kellogg was arrested and transported to the Juvenile Detention Center.

Kellogg, Miguel Manuel Diego and Kishon King, all juveniles, were the suspects in a shooting on Aug. 23, 2015. Diego's and King's cases were transferred to Criminal Court on Nov. 16, 2015, clerks confirmed, meaning they are charged as adults with attempted first-degree murder, possession of a firearm during a dangerous felony, and numerous counts of aggravated assault. Diego is scheduled to appear on March 30 and King on March 7.

Kellogg's newest charges date from Sept. 7, 2015, when police said he shot and killed 51-year-old Wonsik No inside the business owner's Fourth Avenue shop at 9:42 in the morning.

Chattanooga police and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation searched for Kellogg, then 16, on charges of felony murder, especially aggravated robbery, and unlawful possession of a firearm. After evading authorities, he turned himself into the Hamilton County Jail that evening and was taken to the Juvenile Detention Center.

In late October, after reviewing two hours of material that included video footage from the store, Juvenile Court Judge Rob Philyaw said there was enough evidence to try Kellogg as an adult. A few days later, clerks confirmed, the case was bound over to the grand jury, which should decide in the next couple of weeks whether to indict Kellogg.

According to Hamilton County Jail and court dockets, Kellogg faces charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, especially aggravated robbery, reckless endangerment, possession of a firearm in commission of a felony and numerous counts of aggravated assaults occurring between the August shooting and Wonsik No's death.
