Police investigate late night robbery, shooting in Chattanooga

Police officers responded to a report of a robbery with injuries about 11:30 p.m. Sunday at the 2700 block of Cannon Avenue, according to a Chattanooga Police Department new release.

Officers found Gilbert Perez, 27, suffering from two gunshot wounds, one to the arm and the other to the right side. They also found Tomas Perez, 49, suffering from a non-life-threatening injury as a result of being hit by the suspect with a firearm.

Both parties were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
