A woman once accused of trying to kill her husband will receive one year of probation.

Holly Allison Clark, of Tunnel Hill, pleaded guilty in Catoosa County Superior Court today to a charge of reckless conduct, said her attorney, McCracken Poston. He said Clark originally faced charges of attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder and distribution of oxycodone.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, Royal Wayne Hall gave Clark a concoction of orange juice, vodka, hydrocodone and oxycodone on July 7, 2013. Clark then gave the drink to her husband, Melvin Clark.

He later told the Catoosa County Sheriff's Office he sipped the drink three times. He doesn't remember what happened next. But, according to the affidavit, he and his wife drove to the store together.

Holly Clark then called the police, telling them that her husband was driving drunk.

"(The drugs) had such a bad effect on him," Poston said, "that the officer didn't even think he was driving under the influence. The officer immediately thought, 'Something's wrong. He needs hospitalization.'"

Three days later, Holly Clark filed for divorce. Poston said she and Melvin Clark actually reunited after the arrest and remain together today.

Poston said Holly Clark was remorseful and cooperated with the police. Melvin Clark, he said, asked the prosecution to go light on his wife.

"He was adament with the district attorney that he really didn't want his wife prosecuted, especially for attempted murder," Poston said. "We knew the state could not sustain that. Ultimately, the state figured this out as well."

Poston said Hall has also pleaded guilty in this case, but he didn't know the details on that plea.
