At approximately 4:00 pm, a Toyota Avalon driven by 16-year-old Evan Hall of Dalton was traveling northbound on Cappes Street when Hall ran the red light at the intersection with Waugh Street.
A GMC Jimmy driven by 21-year-old Lacey Clark of Dalton was traveling westbound on Waugh Street and was hit in the side by Hall's car. The impact caused the Jimmy to flip onto its roof. Both Clark and her passenger, 43-year-old Robert Merriman of Dalton, escaped the crash with only minor injuries but they were transported to Hamilton Medical Center as a precaution.
The investigation into this crash is continuing and citations against Mr. Hall are pending.
