Six hour standoff ends in arrest

After shooting a man in the leg with a handgun, Roxanne Hurley, secured herself in her home at 336 Cordell Avenue in Lafayette, Ga and refused to surrender to law enforcement.

Authorities were able to remove the man, Troy Hawkins, 40, who was reportedly a friend of Hurley's, from the residence and transport him to Erlanger.

A six hour standoff ensued between Hurley and Walker County authorities before she was arrested just before 2:00 a.m.

Hurley was taken to Walker County jail and is charged with aggravated assault.
