A strong line of storms is bringing high winds and much-needed rain to the Chattanooga area.

Significant weather and wind advisories have been issued by the National Weather Service for Bledsoe, Bradley, Hamilton, Marion, Meigs, Rhea and Sequatchie counties in Tennessee and Dade, Murray and Walker counties in Georgia.

High winds have caused power outages throughout the Chattanooga area.

EPB officials said roughly 2 percent, or about 3,400 households, of their customers were without power Monday night. Crews were dispatched to get power restored. High winds and moving branches caused the outages, said John Pless, EPB spokesman.

Hamilton County 911 calls listed reports of wires down on the 6000 block of Sierra Lane and in the 300 block of South Crest Road.

The Smart Grid is re-routing power to keep power on for as many customers as possible, and EPB line crews are working quickly to restore outages. To report an outage or get additional information, please utilize the Outage Map & Report Outage Page or call 423-648-1EPB (1372).
