Dustin Lee Adams escaped from the Hamilton County jail on Labor Day.Deputies recaptured one of the inmates, but another is still on the loose.
The pair escaped at 1:40 a.m. from the downtown jail, though one, Dylon Lafollette, was recaptured a few hours later near the 100 block of North Market Street.
This is the first successful escape from the Hamilton County Jail in more than 15 years, a spokesman said. The two prisoners, who are not considered violent, escaped by breaking a window and removing the screws holding the security screen. The inmates were being held on the second floor, which is typically used to house minimum security prisoners.
Both men were facing charges of theft.
Lafollette was returned to the Hamilton County Jail and was charged with escape.
The second escapee, Dustin Lee Adams is still at large. Officials say he may have been injured in the escape and may seek medical attention.
Adams is described as a white male, 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs approximately 100 pounds. He was considered homeless with no permanent physical address.
