Chattanooga shooting victim jailed for misleading police

A 27-year-old man was shot Monday afternoon in the 2500 block of Judson Lane.

Dezmon Walker arrived at a local hospital around 2 p.m. Monday by a personally owned vehicle with a gunshot wound.

His injuries were non-life threatening, according to a Chattanooga Police news release.

Police arrived in response to reports of a person shot who arrived at the hospital. Investigators determined that the shooting possibly occurred on the 2500 block of Judson Lane, according to the news release.

The victim initially cooperated with police however changed his story on several occasions while explaining the sequence of events which resulted in him being shot.

The suspect description is unknown at this time due to the victims attempts to mislead police.

Walker was released from the hospital and was transported to the Hamilton County Jail. He was charged with filing a false police report.

Members of the Violent Crimes Bureau are actively investigating the incident to determine the facts surrounding the victim's injuries.
