All Walker County residents are once again allowed to use water without restrictions.

Restrictions for water use have been lifted for Walker County Water & Sewerage Authority and City of LaFayette water customers, according to a release from a city spokesman.

A second mobile water treatment center was activated today, boosting the clean water supply and allowing residents to use water, according to the release.

Residents were urged to boil drinking water and restrictions were put on water use June 29 after inspectors found an E. coli sample in a well at the water treatment plant. This was not the treated product that the Walker County Water & Sewerage Authority distributes to customers.
