Shernard StewartA man has been charged with attempted murder after confessing to shooting another man in the abdomen on Friday night.
Officers responded to a shooting in the 2000 block of Museum Street and found both the suspect, Shernard Stewart Jr., and the victim, Willie Edwards, on the scene, according to a report from Chattanooga police. Witnesses told police the two were engaged a verbal dispute prior to the shooting.
Edwards was transported to a local hospital and is in critical condition.
