As the investigation into the shooting death of a Jasper, Tenn., man continued this week, a second person has been charged with murder.

Jackson County Sheriff Chuck Phillips said Thursday that the investigation is continuing to develop.

After 26-year-old Christopher Kenneth McCallie was charged Tuesday in the shooting death of 38-year-old Jasper resident Joshua Todd Smith at a home on Sharon Drive in Stevenson, Ala., Phillips said investigations developed a second suspect, 30-year-old Brittany Joyce Smith, McCallie's sister.

Brittany Smith is now charged with murder, as well, and both she and McCallie are each being held on $250,000 bond, according to the sheriff and jail records.

Phillips said Smith lives at the address where the fatal shooting happened.

The sheriff declined to provide more details while investigators are still probing in the incident.

McCallie was arrested after Joshua Todd Smith's body was found inside the home, authorities said.

Smith's body has been sent to the Department of Forensic Sciences' Huntsville lab for an autopsy, according to officials.
The crime scene on Sharon Drive is just east of U.S. Highway 72 and just south of County Road 85 in a neighborhood of about three dozen homes.

Phillips said no court dates have been set.
