Maj. Tommy BradfordMaj. Tommy Bradford with the Dade County (Georgia) Sheriff's Office on Friday received the Georgia Sheriffs Association's Deputy Sheriff of the Year award for valor, according to a release from the sheriff's office.
Bradford lost his left leg and sustained other injuries on Aug. 7, 2018, as he was attempting to stop a fleeing felon. A number of deputies who worked that day attended the ceremony.
"Not a day goes by that we aren't proud of Major Bradford and his recovery," the news release stated.
