Chattanooga's Public Library will kick off its Make. Play. Read. Learn. Summer Learning Program Saturday afternoon at all branches.

The free program for kids and teens up to age 18 means that all summer long children can earn points by reading, writing, playing sports, helping out in their communities and more.

There are 26 different activities for participants to do over the summer, and every 10 activities they do in their Chattanooga program passport they will receive a raffle ticket to enter to win a prize of their choice, including a Visit Chattanooga Pass, a scooter, an Amazon gift card and more. Participants who complete 50 activities or more will be entered in a drawing to win a $200 gift card.

The program runs from June 1 to July 27. To register, visit www.chattlibrary.org/mprl or any branch. Passports can be picked up at the kickoff parties or at any time during the program.

Each branch will have free programming throughout ranging from nature and science activities to art classes and yoga storytime. All events are posted on the library's website at www.chattlibrary.org/events.

The 2019 Summer Picks, a list curated by librarians to help students and parents find the best summer books, is available online and at all locations.
