Officials with Sequachee Valley Electric Cooperative, the utility that serves most of the southern Sequatchie Valley and Cumberland Plateau, say power was knocked out Grundy County, Tennessee, for a while Sunday in the Tracy City and Coalmont areas after a bird got into a substation.

A large bird.

"Tracy City, Coalmont and 56/108 junction, the power outage earlier was caused by, of all things, a buzzard," a post on the utility's social media page reads.

The large bird got into the Summerfield substation which supplies power to those areas, officials said.

Crews responded quickly to fix the damage and restore power.

After posting a query to customers asking for tips on what happened, the SVEC boss posted a photo he shot of the animal once officials found the problem.

"Everyone should be back on from Tracy City through coalmont to the junction," SVEC CEO and president Mike Partin states in a post Sunday evening. "It was a large Buzzard that got into the station and took it out. I took the picture cause some of you wouldn't believe it. Lol. Sorry for the inconvenience."

Anyone still experiencing problems should call the utility at 888-421-7832.
