One vehicle overturns, another set ablaze following East Ridge collision

East Ridge firefighters, police officers and EMS workers responded to a fiery crash Tuesday night after a collision at the intersection of South Moore Road and Ringgold Road.

First responders were dispatched to the location around 8:40 p.m., according to a news release from East Ridge Fire Department Chief Mike Williams. Upon arrival, they found one vehicle "heavily involved in fire" with no one inside. A second vehicle sat upside down, with its occupant on the ground beside the overturned vehicle.

Bystanders had removed the trapped person, the news release states.

Crews extinguished the fire and treated the injured person. Lifeguard EMS transported the person to a local hospital.

No further information regarding any other occupants of the vehicles was immediately available.
