A man was arrested and charged with murder in the shooting death of another man Monday afternoon, according to a news release from the Bradley County Sheriff's Office.

David A. King of Cleveland, Tennessee, was charged with first degree murder in the shooting and killing of Ramon Davila Tercero.

On Monday, the Bradley County 911 Center received a call from King, who reported that he had shot another male who he believed was trying to break into his vehicle. Deputies from the Bradley County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to a residence on McClanahan Road SE to find an unresponsive man lying in the driveway who had suffered from gunshot injuries, the release states.

Investigators later determined that the victim, Tercero, had previously worked for and allegedly stolen from King. According to witness accounts, Tercero arrived at the residence earlier that day and spoke with two women, identified as a relative and a friend of King's.

The two women and Tercero were in the process of leaving the residence in a vehicle belonging to one of the women when King proceeded to hold Tercero at gunpoint. Tercero was then shot by King while still seated in the vehicle, according to witnesses.

King is currently booked in the Bradley County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
