Chattanooga police investigating after man found shot inside vehicle

Chattanooga police are investigating after a man was shot inside of his vehicle Monday night, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

Just before midnight, Chattanooga police arrived at 3200 Rosemont Drive to find a vehicle that had rolled into a stone wall and the driver, 27-year-old Justin Peoples, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Emergency services transported Peoples to a local hospital where he died from his injuries, according to police.

Witnesses in the area told police that Peoples was at a stop sign when he was shot by someone in another vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing, and Chattanooga police ask anyone with information about it to call the homicide tip line at 423-643-5100 or submit a tip through the CPD mobile app. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
