Girl and child hit by vehicle while trying to cross road in Cleveland, Tennessee

A girl and child were struck by a vehicle late Tuesday afternoon in Cleveland, Tennessee, as they were trying to cross a road, according to a Cleveland Police Department news release.

Cleveland police responded to the intersection of North Lee Highway and Tasso Lane at about 4:45 on the report of a female juvenile pedestrian and a small child struck by a vehicle.

The girl was pushing a stroller with the child inside and attempting to cross North Lee Highway when they were hit by a northbound vehicle.

The girl and child were taken by ambulance to a local hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown.

No information about the driver of the vehicle was reported.
