Chattanooga police are investigating a shooting that happened Monday night in the 1100 block of Central Avenue.
Responding to a call at about 8:20 p.m., police learned that a 23-year-old man had been shot while in the driver's seat of his vehicle, according to the release.
Police said the victim was at a traffic light when an unknown suspect pulled up next to him and fired shots into his vehicle.
The suspect fled the scene shortly after the incident, and the victim was taken to a local hospital by Hamilton County Emergency Services with a minor gunshot injury, the release states.
The investigation is ongoing, and Chattanooga police ask anyone with information regarding the incident to call the homicide tip line at 423-643-5100 or submit a tip through the CPD Mobile App. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
