Chattanooga police arrest teen suspect in fatal Sixth Avenue shooting

A 16-year-old teen suspect has been arrested in Wednesday's fatal shooting on Sixth Avenue, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

The suspect has been charged with criminal homicide and unlawful possession of a weapon after 34-year-old Lendell Davis was found lying in the stairwell of an apartment building, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the 2400 block of Sixth Avenue. Davis later died at a local hospital.

The suspect is currently in custody at the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center.
