Bess T. Shepherd Elementary School will close Tuesday at 12:15 p.m. due to a power outage, according to a Hamilton County Schools news release.
The power outage was caused by a vehicle hitting a utility pole in the surrounding neighborhood. The power is not expected to be restored at the school within the next few hours, the release states.
Students at the school will be served lunch before dismissal and buses will remain in route to take students home. Bess T. Shepherd staff will remain at the school until parents of students who are car riders can arrange for their child to be picked up, according to the release.
