Man confesses to New Year's Eve hit-and-run of motorcyclist in East Ridge

A man has confessed to the Dec. 31 hit-and-run in East Ridge which resulted in a Ringgold, Georgia, man having his leg amputated, according to an East Ridge Police Department news release.

Jeff Stiner, 37, was riding his motorcycle on Ringgold Road on New Year's Eve around 9 p.m. when he was struck by a pickup truck. The driver fled the scene.

On Tuesday, East Ridge Traffic Investigators interviewed Tommie Eugene Harris aboutg the crash. Harris confessed to being the driver of the hit-and-run vehicle. Charges are pending.
