Hamilton County up to 5 confirmed coronavirus cases out of 49 tests

As of Thursday afternoon, Hamilton County has five confirmed cases of of COVID-19, up from three on Wednesday.

The Chattanooga- Hamilton County Health Department did not release any additional information about the new cases like they had previously, and emailed members of the media saying they would not do so from now on "unless there is a significant milestone."

Negative tests also jumped, with the county's website showing 49 total completed tests with results returned from the state lab.

County officials and hospital officials have not shared the number of tests done by private health care facilities and labs, despite multiple inquiries in the week since the first local case was announced.
