Police in Athens, Tennessee, are seeking two men and the vehicle they were using after a shooting early Tuesday left one woman dead and a man injured.

Athens police answering a call about an incident at the Clem Jones Housing Complex on Walker Street in Athens about 12:15 a.m. Tuesday found a man and woman inside an apartment with gunshot wounds, according to a news release.

Police said the survivor of the shooting, Tremon Hall, was taken to a local hospital for treatment and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. She has not been named pending notification of family, according to the release.

Two unidentified people of interest are being sought in connection with the fatal shooting. There was no description of the two available except that they were men.

Athens police Chief Cliff Couch said Wednesday afternoon that there was no new information in the investigation.

The men were seen in a newer model, dark-colored Dodge pickup truck, police said. Clem Jones Housing Complex is surrounded by a residential area located just a few blocks away from the Athens Police Department.

Anyone with information or a camera system that may have captured any related footage is urged to contact the Athens Police Department at 423-745-3222.
