Another person has died in Hamilton County of COVID-19, although the patient was from Georgia and therefore will not be counted in Tennessee's statistics for the global pandemic.
"That is a Georgia resident that passed away at a local hospital," Hamilton County health department spokesman Tom Bodkin said. "That patient count has been transferred to Georgia, and the state will change to reflect the current number of 13 deaths for Hamilton Co."
The death was originally reported and ascribed to Hamilton County by Tennessee health officials, but that will be corrected, Bodkin said.
The last time Hamilton County reported a COVID-19 death involving a local patient was on April 18.
