13-year-old arrested in connection to Grand Avenue shooting of 11-year-old boy in Chattanooga

A 13-year-old boy was arrested Tuesday in connection to a Sept. 2 shooting of an 11-year-old boy in the 4400 block of Grand Avenue, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

Officers responded to a call of "unknown trouble" at around 4:30 p.m. at a residence and found the 11-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound. The juvenile was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

After collecting evidence and conducting interviews, homicide investigators arrested the 13-year-old, who has been charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment. He is currently being held at the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center.
