Pedestrian struck, killed on Amnicola Highway Tuesday

A 38-year-old man was struck by a vehicle and killed while crossing Amnicola Highway Tuesday evening, according to the Chattanooga Police Department.

The incident happened shortly before 7 p.m., when the victim was crossing the 2400 block of Amnicola Highway and was struck by a driver heading south. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries, according to a news release.

Authorities have not released the victim's name, and police ask anyone with information about the incident to call 423-698-2525 or submit a tip through the CPD mobile app.
