Hamilton County Schools will return to five days of in-person learning next week

Hamilton County Schools will enter Phase 3 of its reopening plan for the week of Feb. 15-19, bringing all students back to the classroom except for those who have chosen fully remote learning.

All K-12 students will return to class five days a week, with the exception of the Presidents Day holiday on Monday, Feb. 15. HCS at Home students, who learn in an entirely virtual environment, will continue to do so.

The district announced Tuesday that Phase 3 will be implemented based on data from its COVID-19 phase tracker, which states that there are 1,597 active cases in the population of Hamilton County as of Tuesday.

So far this month, the first two weeks of school fell into Phase 2. Last week, the district brought students in grades K-5 to the classroom four days a week and grades 6-12 learned in a hybrid schedule. This week, students in grades K-8 came back to classrooms four days a week while grades 9-12 remain in a hybrid schedule.
