UPDATE: Man missing since June 30 found dead, Chattanooga police say

UPDATE: A man who had been missing since June 30 has been found dead, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

As part of the ongoing investigation into 58-year-old John Gregory's disappearance, CPD Missing Persons Investigators returned to Mr. Gregory's property on July 12. While conducting a search of the property, an adult male's body fitting Gregory's physical description was found.

The Hamilton County Medical Examiner's Office was contacted and took the body to their facility. On July 13, the medical examiner's office positively identified the deceased male as John Gregory.

There were no obvious signs of foul play or trauma to Gregory. Cause of death will be determined pending results from the Hamilton County Medical Examiner's Office.

Authorities are asking for the public's help in finding a missing 58-year-old man, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

John Gregory's family reported to police that he has not been seen or heard from him since June 30.

His family said that he left necessary medications at his residence in the 4800 block of 16th Avenue in East Lake.

Gregory is 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighs 225 pounds, has blue eyes and balding gray hair and has a scar on his right leg.
