I-24 East reopens near Highway 27 split after pedestrian struck Thursday night

Police say the interstate was closed because a person was hit while trying to cross the eastbound lanes

UPDATE: Traffic is moving again on I-24 East following a shutdown on Thursday night due to a person being hit while trying to cross the roadway.

TDOT's SmartWay cameras show traffic is back to normal on I-24 East between Brown's Ferry Road and the Highway 27 split.

Police say the interstate was closed because a person was hit while trying to cross the eastbound lanes.
