Contributed photo from the Chattanooga Fire Department / Crews worked on Tuesday, June 15, 2021, to extradite a driver whose truck overturned near S Crest Road and was hanging over the ridge.

A truck went off South Crest Road Tuesday afternoon, necessitating a delicate rescue of the driver as the truck as perched on the steep embankment, hanging in what the Chattanooga Fire Department called "dangerous, unstable spot."

The 28-foot long box truck flipped over near Shadowlawn Drive on Missionary Ridge. Crews from the Chattanooga Fire Department were able to rescue the driver.

The driver was reportedly hanging upside down inside the cab and crews worked quickly to get to him and get him out.
