Tickets on sale for Chattanooga prayer breakfast May 3

The city's annual prayer breakfast is scheduled for May 3 with business leader Todd Hopkins, CEO of Office Pride Commercial Cleaning Services, scheduled as the guest speaker.

The 43rd annual Chattanooga Area Leadership Prayer Breakfast will be held at the Chattanooga Convention Center, with the breakfast buffet opening at 6:45 a.m., according to a news release. Tickets are on sale for $25 per person or $200 for a table of eight. Tickets can be purchased online at ChattanoogaPrayerBreakfast.com.

People first gathered for the prayer breakfast in 1978 and the event has grown to the largest community-wide seated event in the area with more than 2,200 people attending the breakfast last year, according to a news release. Previous speakers have included Gov. Bill Lee, former Sen. William Armstrong and Chuck Colson, who served as special counsel to President Richard Nixon.

How to buy a ticket

Tickets for the 43rd annual Chattanooga Area Leadership Prayer Breakfast can be purchased online at ChattanoogaPrayerBreakfast.com. Online, tickets are $25 per person or $200 for a table of eight. Tickets can also be purchased by mail with a check mailed to: Prayer Breakfast c/o Carol Brown 1101 Central Dr. Hixson, TN 37343 Tickets bought via the mail cost $24 per person or $192 for a table of eight.

Chattanooga-area leaders Ted DeMoss, John Steffner, John Stophel and John Wright helped found the prayer breakfast nearly half a century ago with the vision for an event to spur conversation on morality and ethics among local leaders, in the professional world and in government, according to the news release. The gathering was previously held at the Chattanooga Choo Choo.

Hopkins, this year's guest speaker, founded the Florida-based Office Pride Commercial Cleaning Services 30 years ago. The business operates in 25 states, according to the news release. Hopkins has written four books on business, entrepreneurship and Christianity. Born and raised in Tennessee, Hopkins has degrees from the University of Memphis and Butler University.

The event offers free parking at Finley Stadium with a free shuttle service from the lot to the convention center every five minutes, starting at 6:15 a.m.
