Three people shot in Chattanooga on Saturday night while in vehicle

Three individuals, including a child, were shot Saturday night near the 1300 block of Fort Street, according to a news release from the Chattanooga Police Department.

Police were called to the scene at 11:16 p.m. and found a 19-year-old woman, a 24-year-old man and a 9-year-old boy with gunshot wounds. The victims were in a vehicle when they realized they were receiving gunfire and were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, the release states.

The shooting took place a few hours before 14 individuals were shot Sunday morning on McCallie Avenue, two of whom died. One of three additional victims who were hit by cars while trying to flee the scene that morning also died.
