McCallie School employee fired following misconduct allegations involving a minor

An employee of McCallie School, an all-boys private school, has been fired after the school was made aware of misconduct allegations, officials said in an email to the school community Thursday.

The school did not specify the misconduct other than to say it involved a minor who had previously attended summer boarding camp.

The incident did not occur at McCallie nor at a McCallie program, but upon looking into the allegations, school officials determined the employee had violated certain internal policies, the news release said.

The school terminated the employee and notified civil authorities, who are investigating the alleged misconduct, school officials said.

"We trust the authorities to handle the matter, and we will fully cooperate with them. Because this is an ongoing investigation, we will not be commenting further at this time. We will provide as much information as is permissible when appropriate," the news release stated.
