Hamilton County Sheriff's Office: Silverdale Detention Center inmate dies

A female inmate was pronounced dead after being found unresponsive Monday at Silverdale Detention Center, according to a news release from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.

Hamilton County Emergency Medical Services was called to the detention center about 2 p.m. in response to a medical emergency involving an unresponsive 53-year-old woman. The female inmate was taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The inmate's next of kin have been notified.

At the request of the Hamilton County District Attorney's Office, Hamilton County Sheriff's Office Investigative Services has been directed to conduct an investigation into the death. The body of the inmate has been taken to the Hamilton County Medical Examiner's Office for the cause and manner of death to be determined.
