A look at what's happening all around the major leagues Thursday:

World Series MVP Madison Bumgarner and NL MVP and Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw will match up for the third time already this season when the Giants and Dodgers wrap up their three-game series at AT&T Park. Everybody expects a low-scoring game when these two lefty aces are on the mound opposite each other. "As much as anything you like to see guys rise up," Los Angeles manager Don Mattingly said. "It's fun watching those guys."

Texas Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton is moving his rehab for offseason shoulder surgery to Triple-A Round Rock in preparation for being activated as early as Monday. Hamilton should play three days with Round Rock before being reevaluated. Hamilton has hit .371 (13 for 35) in 10 rehab games.

The Yankees' YES Network is going on the road - to show ace Masahiro Tanaka's first minor league rehab start at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Tanaka is expected to go three innings or 45 pitches. He's been on the DL since April 29 with wrist tendinitis and a right forearm strain.

The first-place Houston Astros take on Detroit in the opener of a four-game series. The Tigers send David Price to the mound against the visiting Astros, who have the American League's best record (27-14) after a 6-1 win over Oakland on Wednesday.

Out since April 27 with a broken rib, Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Jose Reyes is scheduled to play in his first rehab game, for Triple-A Toledo. Reyes is expected to play three games then have a day off before being activated Monday.

Jaime Garcia comes off the disabled list for the St. Louis Cardinals to pitch against the New York Mets in his first major league start since June 20 last year. The 28-year-old lefty had a setback in spring training from thoracic outlet surgery, performed in July 2014 to alleviate numbness and tingling in his pitching arm and hand. He gets a chance to fill the rotation spot that opened when ace Adam Wainwright sustained a season-ending Achilles injury last month. "If it doesn't work, next man. Who's going to take it? That's what it is right now," manager Mike Matheny said.
