FIU football player stabbed to death

MIAMI - A Florida International football player has been stabbed to death in an on-campus incident.

University president Mark Rosenberg says in a news release that Kendall Berry was stabbed and that the school is "shocked and saddened."

Berry was a reserve running back for the Golden Panthers from Haines City, Fla.

Police say the stabbing took place near the rec center on FIU's main campus, and the school confirmed Berry's death shortly past 11 p.m.
