TDOT bridge inspectors have temporarily closed the bridge on U.S. Hwy. 41 over the Tennessee River at Nickajack in Marion County.
During a routine inspection today inspectors discovered an area of corroded steel that needs further evaluation and closed the bridge to traffic as a precautionary measure until temporary repairs can be made.
The bridge will remain closed until further notice. Detours are posted.
