A Chattanooga woman was indicted Wednesday on a first-degree murder charge in the September shooting death of her husband.

Regina Copeland, 32, will be arraigned in Criminal Court Judge Barry Steelman's court on Nov. 18.

At a preliminary hearing earlier, Copeland's attorney, Lee Davis, had said she was the victim of domestic assault when Demetrius D. Roshell was shot Sept. 8.

Witnesses told police the couple were arguing in a vehicle outside their home at 20 13th Ave. and that Roshell pulled Copeland out of the car and into the house.

Copeland got a .357-caliber Magnum revolver from the bedroom, told her husband to leave the house and fired, according to court documents.

The couple married in January and had an infant son.
