The Rant

The Rant

December 11th, 2016 in Opinion Rants

With so many generals in his cabinet, who is Trump protecting: the country or himself?

Trump said he was going to drain the swamp. Instead he is filling it with the same type "Washington insiders" and "Wall Streeters"

Trump is going to put lobbyists in their place. In his side pocket. The other pockets are already full.

Eliminate the Electoral College. We need a true democracy.

To all the young so-called journalists seeking to accept the election of Donald Trump, I quote Butch Cassidy, "Who are these guys?"

The U.S. is not a democracy. It is a republic. That is why our votes often do not count. Look it up.

We now know for sure democracy is not for stupid people. We'll see how oligarchy works.

Mr. Trump, make health care great again!

My copy of the Constitution says burning the flag is allowed, and the winner of the Electoral College is the president.

If someone burns the flag, knowing that retaliation is probable, perhaps we could listen to what they have to say.

I won't leave the U.S. because I love living in the greatest country in the world, and unlike you, I kept my dislike of him to myself.

Illegal cars? That's a relief. I thought it was going to be another Bradley County sexting scandal.

Letter from Signal Mountain: You said, "I didn't like Obama, but I supported him." Show me a record of support of President Obama? Waiting.

If President Obama still has a pen and a telephone, why didn't he feel the need to call Carrier himself?

Ron Hart is the best. On CNN he said "they played the Cuban National Anthem at 49er's game to get Colin Kaepernick to stand."

I don't know if Signal Mountain needs a school district but we definitely need a Starbucks.

By now, everyone in Chattanooga area should have hearing aids and a new mattress.

The downfall in Hamilton County education was the merging of the county and city schools.

U.S. Bureau of Labor: There are 101.7 million Americans of working age without a job. Please try to understand how bad the economy is.

Ask a public school fifth-grade teacher how much time (taxpayer money) he/she is required to spend on student applications to our prestigious private schools — ridiculous.

When changing classes on a rainy day, Sale Creek students must use umbrellas and dodge garbage cans in the hall due to a leaky roof.

It's about time TDOT did something about those lousy automakers. None of them manufactures vehicles with turn-signal capability.

Clay Bennett must be thrilled with the outcome of the election. Next eight years of steady employment trashing President Trump.

The I'll-leave-Signal-if-this-happens types amaze me. No one's voted to do anything. How have we become people who can't even listen before reacting?

The two juveniles charged in the Gatlinburg fire are wishing like crazy they could blame the tragedy on global warming.

Is it me or are random acts of kindness becoming more frequent? Someone bought my coffee two days in row; of course, I gladly paid it forward.

Amid all the media negativity and sensationalism, I'm thankful for David Carroll, who speaks from the heart. Truly a class act.
