Shannon Whitfield wins Walker County commissioner race by large margin

Republican Shannon Whitfield has won the race for Walker County Commissioner.

Whitfield has received 16,959 of 23,305 votes counted, good for 72 percent of the vote. Independent Perry Lamb, who is in second place with 3,435 votes, has conceded the race.

Incumbent Bebe Heiskell has 2,911 votes. She did not return call seeking comment.
