District 1 Hamilton County Board of Education Member Rhonda Thurman today announced her endorsement of Robin Smith's candidacy for Tennessee's Third District seat in Congress.
In declaring her support for Smith, Thurman said, "No one in this race understands the needs of Hamilton County as does Robin Smith. In the years I have known Robin, I have seen in her the same qualities Hamilton County residents have come to know and respect. She's not afraid to stand up for the people of this district. She's a strong voice for common sense government and policies that make real improvements in the lives of Tennesseans."
In thanking Thurman for her support, Smith noted her reputation as a determined advocate for Hamilton County schools. "Rhonda Thurman is a great example of citizen leadership. She has fearlessly fought for better schools and greater accountability from those who run them. No one in Hamilton County is ever unsure as to where Rhonda stands. That kind of solid and unwavering leadership is what we need at all levels of government. Holding government accountable is critical to turning around our economy and putting this nation back on the right path. Leaders like Rhonda Thurman show us it can be done and I plan to take that same determination to Congress."
