For the second consecutive season, University of Tennessee at Chattanooga senior quarterback Jacob Huesman has been pegged as one of 22 players on the STATS Football Championship Subdivision offensive player of the year watch list.

The two-time Southern Conference offensive player of the year, a former Baylor School standout, was 11th in the voting for national player of the year in 2014, accounting for 37 total touchdowns and leading the FCS in completion percentage. He threw for 2,731 yards while rushing for 1,009.

Huesman is one of five Mocs named to the offensive-player watch list in recent memory, joining quarterbacks Chris Sanders (2000) and B.J. Coleman (2011) and receivers Cos DeMatteo (2001) and Alonzo Nix (2004).

Huesman, a STATS preseason All-American, is one of two players from the SoCon on the list, being joined by Western Carolina senior quarterback Troy Mitchell.

The preseason list is very impressive. Villanova quarterback John Robertson, the 2014 award winner, is back for his senior season, as is Carson Wentz, the North Dakota State quarterback who was the most outstanding player of the FCS championship game. The nation's leader in rushing yards and points scored, Illinois State running back Marshaun Coprich, also returns, as does Prairie View A&M back Johnta Hebert, who led the nation in all-purpose yards.
